KBIA Board Members

The Kamloops Brain Injury Association is fortunate to have a well qualified and dedicated bunch of people on its board of directors. Some directors have been around for many years and others are fairly new, but all are enthusiastic and committed.

Dave Marr, President
Dave MarrKBIA's legal representative; he is a solicitor with HMZ law. Dave has been involved with KBIA from its inception in 1986. He has served as the president since the late 1980s. His interest grew from handling personal injury cases for clients with brain injuries. Recognising how little was understood about brain injuries and their effects; he worked with the mother of a brain injury client to establish KBIA. Since then brain injury litigation has become the focus of Dave's work. Married and a father of four sons, Dave enjoys mountain biking and cross country skiing. Dave also sits on the Gur Singh Golf Tournament planning committee.

Tom McInulty, Treasurer
Dave MarrThe financial representative to the board. He too is a long serving member of the board who was recruited by Dave Marr on the basis of Tom’s experience as a member of the United Way’s board. Tom is a certified management accountant with BDO Dunwoody and a devoted husband.  Tom describes himself as a “sports nut with a twisted sense of humour.” Anyone who knows Tom knows how much he loves to tell jokes.

Dr. Richard Brownlee, Director
Dave MarrKBIA's medical representative and has been on the board for several years. A neurosurgeon who has been practising in Kamloops since 1996, Richard is a founding partner in the Welcome Back clinic which boasts British Columbia's only stand up MRI. A dedicated director, Richard also serves on the planning committee of the Gur Singh Invitational Golf Tournament.

Bernadette Siracky, Director
Dave MarrThe Executive Director of the Kamloops Food Bank; she joined KBIA in 2009 after completing a major agency review for them. Bernadette's recommendations arising from the report were fully supported by the board of directors and were implemented in the following twelve months. The mother of three older adopted children, Bernadette has also worked in the education field specializing in learning disabilities.
